FAQ

  • How many sessions will it take for me to see improvement?

When beginning psychotherapy, it is important to recognize that everyone’s experience will be different. Clients must be cognizant that psychotherapy aims to correct years of patterned thinking and behaviours; such a task will understandably take time and effort. Individuals who make a concerted effort both during and outside of sessions may experience a positive shift in their mood after only a couple of sessions.

  • Are your services covered by insurance?

As a psychotherapy permit holder with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), most insurance companies cover my sessions. To avoid any mishaps, it is important to contact your insurance provider to verify that your policy covers services offered by a registered psychotherapist.

  • Is online counselling effective?

Online clients can expect the same high-quality attention they would receive in -person, so you can continue to make meaningful progress from the comfort of your own home.

  • What’s the difference between a psychotherapist and psychologist?

The primary difference between a psychologist and a psychotherapist is that a psychologist can formally diagnose mental health disorders. Both psychotherapists and psychologists are qualified to treat mental health disorders.

  • Are sessions virtual or in-person?

I am happy to offer online sessions to residents of Ontario and Quebec, as well as in-person sessions at my office in Laval, QC.

  • Do I need a referral?

No, it is not necessary to have a referral to book a session with me.
